tekVizion and Sun Microsystems Team to Deliver Sun’s iForce
Telecommunications Services Delivery Solution
tekVizion Provides Critical Integration and
Interoperability Services in the Development of Sun’s
Multi-vendor iForce Solution for Simplifying Telecom Service Delivery
RICHARDSON, TX – October 14, 2003 – tekVizion™ PVS, Inc.,
the Packet Voice SpecialistsSM, announced today that Sun Microsystems, Inc.
(Nasdaq: SUNW), has teamed with tekVizion to provide integration
and interoperability support for Sun’s new iForce Telecommunications
Services Delivery Solution.
The iForce Telecommunications Services Delivery Solution, the
cornerstone of Sun’s telecommunications strategy, is a comprehensive,
standards-based network operations architecture that helps service
providers leverage existing resources to rapidly develop and deploy
new, revenue-generating applications and services. The key objectives
of this solution are to derive new revenues while reducing the
costs and time to market for new service design, integration and
delivery, year over year.
The iForce Telecommunications Services Delivery Solution addresses
four key areas for service deployment:
- Service Creation and Content Acquisition;
- Service Integration – customer pricing, bundling, pricing
and discounting;
- Service Management – enterprise delegation, revenue assurance,
and mediation; and
- Service Delivery – service brokering, transaction monitoring,
service assurance, and dynamic resource provisioning.
“As with all of our iForce initiatives, we sought best-of-breed
vendors. The development of the iForce Telecommunications Services
Delivery Solution demanded deep and broad telecom expertise: understanding
both legacy and packet-based technologies as well as the real-world
interoperability and integration complexities involved with standards-based
multi-vendor solutions. tekVizion’s expertise in call processing
and open standards, such as JAIN, Parlay and SIP was critical
to the successful development of the iForce Telecommunications
Services Delivery Solution,” said Phil Sasso, senior director
of the telecommunications industry at Sun Microsystems.
“Service providers have a critical need for service delivery
platforms that enable the rapid creation and delivery of new,
value-added services and applications with minimal capital expenditure.
Sun’s iForce Telecommunications Services Delivery Solution is
an excellent example of a fully integrated service delivery platform
based entirely on open telecom standards. We are very pleased
that tekVizion was selected to partner with Sun to provide integration,
interoperability and testing services. It strongly validates tekVizion’s
expertise in open telecom standards and multi-vendor interoperability
and integration services,” said Lee Phillips, CEO of tekVizion.
Sun’s iForce Telecommunications Service Delivery Solution will
be demonstrated live during the ITU Telecom World Conference in
Geneva, Switzerland, October 12-18th, in the Sun Microsystems
booth (#6400, Telecom Village).
