Experts Tackle CPE-IP Interoperability
at Channel Partners Event
Cbeyond, CTAP, tekVizion Share Perspectives
on Successfully Building Converged Networks
CHICAGO (Sept. 6, 2005) – Three VoIP convergence
experts will advise PHONE+ 2005 Fall Channel Partners Conference
& Expo attendees that SIP standards and interoperability testing
are critical integrity of converged networks.
In a 50-minute educational session slated for Sept. 20, executives
from Cbeyond Communications, Converged Technology Application
Partners (CTAP) and tekVizion™ PVS, Inc., will share their
perspectives on issues related to bridging the CPE-to-IP network
interoperability gap.
The three companies endorse standards-based technologies, such
as Cbeyond’s
SIP solution for IP PBXs, that accelerate and enhance adoption
of VoIP networks. As a systems integrator and distribution channel
for converged solutions, CTAP sells and maintains customers’
TDM and IP CPE, while tekVizion offers a unique and comprehensive
range of testing services including interoperability and certification,
compliance and solution testing.
“Typically, customers do not migrate the entire enterprise
to a new IP platform all at once,” observes Max Adams CTAP’s
president/CEO. “They conduct a phased approach to implementing
new technology. It’s important for a thorough network assessment
to be completed to ensure that the existing backbone is capable
of supporting added technology. Interoperability testing is also
crucial to any customer’s success with VoIP."
“Interoperability among equipment from multiple vendors
is essential to the migration to an all-IP network,” agrees
Chris Gatch, Cbeyond’s CTO. “Another essential step
toward realizing the full potential of VoIP is direct IP peering
between IP PBXs.”
“Ultimately, ensuring the integrity of the network is the
goal of any technology-based solution,” adds Tracy Venters,
tekVizion’s vice president of solutions engineering. “The
need for interoperability testing and certification won’t
go away because networks are always going to be unique and SIP
will continue to evolve.”
During the panel, which will include time for questions and answers,
the trio will provide more details on their firms’ approaches
to combining legacy and IP networks so that all parts interoperate
reliably to deliver the enhanced services that make converged
networks so attractive.
